Glassworks

I first began experimenting with glass at the University of South Alabama under Susan Fitzsimmons, Rachel Wright, and Matthew Patterson. I have experience with kilnform glass, hot glass, and sculpture making with reclaimed bottle glass.

Emergence 1 (2022)

In Spring of 2022 I became interested in studying the monarch butterfly chrysalis. At the end of the metamorphosis period, the chrysalis becomes transparent and you can see the butterfly within. I was inspired to recreate this in pate-de-verre, while using the layering of clear and colored glass to incorporate dimension into the form.
